Electronica/International Artists

Electronic music, Dj’s, and international stars are a relatively recent Carnival phenomenon. The “Electronica” sound was first introduced to Carnival by Daniela Mercury and her Trio Techno in 1999. While the experiment wasn’t well-received at first, it has since caught on and found it’s niche. The first international DJ to play Salvador’s Carnival was Fatboy Slim who, in 2006, led a Trio for Bloco Skol. Since then, each year, the phenomena has grown and Carnival in Salvador has become the carnival destination for the world's top international DJ's. Carnival Salvador 2020 will feature internationally renowned Dj's such as stars Kungs, Sam Feldt, and Martin Garrix.
