Boats to Morro de Sao Paulo
Note: Info last updated in December, 2011
There are two types of boats that travel between Salvador and Morro de Sao Paulo: the smaller speed boat or lancha (not recommended unless you have an iron stomach…and even then not recommended) or the larger catamara. Both boats leave from the Centro Nautica (also known as Terminal Maritimo), a cute blue and white building located in front of the Mercado Modelo/Elevador Lacerda in Salvador’s Cidade Baixa or lower city, Click for Map
If you already know your date of travel, it is a good idea to go to the Centro Nautica and buy your ticket well in advance so as not to worry about finding a ticket during the mass exodus from Salvador to Morro when carnival ends.
