Founded in 1991 in Rio de Janeiro, Grupo Revelação is responsible for a samba resurgence among young Brazilians. The band has gone on to perform in Europe, the US, and Japan. A large ensemble with sophisticated arrangements, the group draws on samba's rich tradition of samba and adds a contemporary sensibility. Though not from Salvador, the band is a mainstay on the opening night of Carnival, where the Campo Grande circuit is dedicated to samba.
